While private equity deals have been in decline across the board, growth investments have not faced the same financing issues that are impeding buyouts.

Having secured 152 deals since 2018, the UK's Business Growth Fund comes out on top in Europe as the most-active investor in growth equity deals.

Last month alone, BGF announced seven deals. Of those, the largest was a £10 million investment (about $12.4 million) in family-owned homebuilder Newett Homes. It also planned a £9 million investment in Voicescape, which develops communications software for social-housing providers and local governments.

In 2022, a total of €86.1 billion (about $94.4 billion) was invested through 1,294 growth transactions in Europe. Blackstone's €21 billion recapitalization of last-mile logistics company Mileway in Q2 accounted for a significant share of overall value that year.

Below are the 10 top PE growth investors in Europe, by deal count, over the past five years.
