PitchBook played a major role in ICS’ process of securing their first client. ICS had determined that Europe was a major target for their go-to-market plan but found that other data providers were too US-focused to supply them with their desired results. Their research led them to PitchBook, which had a much more comprehensive data set for Europe and eventually led them to connecting with a major Swiss pension fund.

Using the information they found on European organizations and investments, ICS was able to locate this pension fund and learn enough about it to determine that it would be a good match for their data platform. After deciding on this organization, they again used PitchBook to find out about their key contacts and how to reach them.

Data-driven discovery

Another significant use case for the PitchBook Platform at Investment Control Systems is commercial development and uncovering new market segments. Using the information they gather on the platform, ICS can extract insights like the size of a specific market and plan their strategy accordingly.
